Install nginx, php-fpm with oracle on Debian Wheezy

Install Oracle instant client

First of all, download those both files from the official Oracle website:

  • oracle-instantclient11.2-basic-11.2.0.3.0-1.x86_64.rpm library files later extracted in /usr/lib/oracle/11.2/client/
  • oracle-instantclient11.2-devel-11.2.0.3.0-1.x86_64.rpm headers files extracted in /usr/include/oracle/11.2/client

Install php5 php5-fpm and nginx on Debian 5 Squeeze

In many tutorials I’ve seen that you should use dotdeb packages like this:

vim /etc/apt/sources.list.d/php-fpm.list

deb http://packages.dotdeb.org stable all  
deb-src http://packages.dotdeb.org stable all

Installing OCI8 extension for PHP 5.4 debian wheezy (x86)

“Welcome to the oracle hell”… Just read that on the php OCI8 man page and it’s true. Installing OCI8 extension wasn’t hard but took a lot of googling time… I’m describing here what I did to accomplish this hard task.
